Bagels and onomatopoeia.

*blink blink* Whoa. *rubs eyes* Where the hell have I been? I missed the end of Vegan Mofo... whoops. That's what two GRE's, 4 incomplete grad school applications, and 1 full time job will do to an unsuspecting blog. With all of that going on, I don't even have anything super awesome to report. There has been a lot of this lately...

Also, quite a bit of this...

Mmm... but this is not the reason I have resurrected my blog. Instead, it's what my dog has been eating!

V-Dog! My Dordles has been enjoying this crunchy kibble for a month or two now. I finally took the plunge and veganized my pooch! And the 33 lb. bag cost me about $46 and change. The shipping was free and I searched for a "v-dog coupon code", which gave me 5% off! (I recommend Googling coupon codes for ANY online purchase - I've almost always gotten a discount or some little freebie this way!) I was easily spending almost twice that amount on all natural dog foods at grocery stores... and there are animal products in those! Win-win. I can't say much about how the food has affected my little girl's energy level or anything, because she's still a puppy and has always been hyper and playful. But [I'm about to talk about my dog's poop, so skip these next few sentences if you're squeamish], I have noticed that her stool looks much healthier. How does dog shit look unhealthy, you ask? Well, it could be discolored, runny, or she could be constipated. Ever since starting her on V-Dog, it's been healthy poo all the way! Also, check out these vegan/vegetarian doggie treats I picked up for her at Pet Supplies Plus:

Old Mother Hubbard's Just Vegg'n treats (vegan!), Solid Gold's Garlic Doggie Bagels (vegetarian), some peanut butter bagels from a bin (vegan!), and Zuke's Mean Greenz treats. Zuke's company is the most impressive and boasts the most vegan products. Their line of Superfood Organic Dog Biscuits (Mean Greenz, Berry Blastz, Health Nutz) are all vegan, bite sized for training (or putting inside my pup's toys so she can work to get them out), and contain a multitude of nutrients. I would eat these frigging things myself... and there aren't many dog treats I would say that about. So far, Dori likes all of these healthy treats. And right now she is crunching away on a garlic doggie bagel. :)

In other news: I am most likely going to be hosting another Thanksgiving feast this year for my dad, his girlfriend, and my brother. :) I am very excite! But also very unprepared... any killer recipe ideas? I am going to try to get a hold of the lentil-nut loaf recipe that Olivia's mother made into burgers for her wedding - yumtastic! We'll see what else I come up with!
